Privacy Policy

Foreplan is built privacy-first. Your plans stay on your phone. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

• No account, no login. We never ask you to sign up.
• Your plans, preferences, ratings, and history stay on your device in encrypted local storage. We do not upload them to any server.
• We send only the minimum, non-identifying details needed to build a plan to our AI provider (OpenAI) through our proxy, and we store no plan content on our servers.
• We use approximate location only (city/region) and never your exact home location.

What stays on your device (never sent to us)

Saved itineraries, plan history, ratings, preference profiles, notification settings, app settings, and any free-text notes you write are stored only on your device (encrypted). You can delete any or all of it at any time in Me → Privacy Center.

What is sent when you generate a plan

To create an itinerary, the app sends a minimal, privacy-safe request to our AI proxy, which forwards it to OpenAI:

• Planning mode (e.g. Date Night / Family Adventure) and occasion
• Approximate city/region (never an exact address or GPS coordinates)
• Date and preferred start time
• Budget range, desired vibe, food preference, drive-time limit, things to avoid
• For Family Adventure: coarse age ranges (e.g. "3–5") and accessibility needs — never names or exact ages
• Any optional free-text note you choose to type

We do not send your name, contacts, exact location, partner/family details, or device identifiers beyond an anonymous id described below.

Our AI proxy

AI requests pass through a stateless proxy we operate (Firebase Cloud Functions) that holds the OpenAI key and applies usage limits. The proxy:

• does not store your prompt, your plan, or any plan content;
• keeps only an anonymous, app-generated device id with a monthly request counter, used solely to enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse. This id is not linked to you, your account (there is none), or any personal data.

The data above is processed by OpenAI to generate your plan, under OpenAI's applicable terms. We don't use it to build any profile of you.

Location

If you choose "use current location," the app requests approximate location, converts it on your device to a city/region, and discards the precise coordinates. Location is optional — you can always type a city instead.

Notifications

Notifications (e.g. weekly DateDrop) are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use push servers.

Your choices

• Delete saved plans, history, preferences, or all local data in the Privacy Center.
• Export your local data as a file.
• Revoke location or notification permission in system settings at any time.

Deleting your data

In the Foreplan app: open Me → Privacy Center and tap Delete to remove your saved plans, plan history, ratings, preference profiles, and any notes from your device — individually or all at once. You can export your data first if you wish.

What is deleted, and what is kept: this removes all data Foreplan stores on your device. The only thing held on our servers is an anonymous, app-generated device id with a monthly request count, used solely to enforce free usage limits. It is not linked to your identity (there is no account), holds no plan content or personal data, and resets every month. Uninstalling the app discards the device id from your phone.

Children

Foreplan is intended for adults planning outings (including family outings). It is not directed to children, and we collect only coarse age ranges for family planning — never a child's name or exact age.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
